A neighbour dropped by yesterday with an extra military surplus voltage reducer for me to use on my 24V Safari to run 12V electrics. I have attached two photos of it. At one end it has 300 Watts printed on it. Other than that there is no other info. Has anybody come across these before and how well do they work? My neighbour says that they get pretty hot. It is quite a simple set up of steel windings in a ceramic tube with three terminals. The middle terminal is attached to a small clamp which you can slide up and down the tube to select the voltage you want. Any info or advice would be appreciated. Cheers, John
