I asked this question in another thread but I'm hoping to hear from a few more HJ61 owners as to what sort of gas mileage they're getting in their trucks both on the highway and in the city. Is the 12H-T a desiel guzzler?

I'm thinking about buying an HJ61 to use as a daily driver.

Thanks,

Peter

c'mon David.... what the heck kind of figure is km/gallon ??

how does that convert to L/100km? or mpg? ok, mpg isn't so hard *0.6, right?

So that puts it to 21.6 mpg w/ 3.7 and 33" @ highway speeds.

On my 2H, w/ 3.70 and 31" tires, I get an uncorrected 11.5 to about 13 liters/100km, which works out to be 20.5 mpg to about 18mpg. All of my driving is "around town" on terrible dirt roads with frequent stops and very very little time spent above 90kph (roughly 55mph). If you correct for the 31" tires, change those figures upward about 8% ish. Not a really big difference, but it works out to between 22 mpg and 19.5 mpg. mas o menos.

tapage, exactly! what kind of figure is that!

What gallon are you using? Imp or US.....

Do they sell fuel in Gallons in Panama. And your cruiser is in KM's?

33" + bodylift + roof rack = 14L/100KM on highway or off road
about 500km with a 70L (I never waiting the end of the tank)

Same data with 30% sunflower oil :D

In the past, when the truck has less than 450.000, with 31", and when my wife was the principal driver : 9L/100KM, around 800KM with 70L

Ok ok ok ok ok ok :grinpimp: easy .. !!!

Yes mi Cruiser is in Km .. so here we use US galon for all ..

1 US gallon = 3.7853 Litres

1 Mille = 1.60953 km

then 36 km/g = 22.36 mpg more less .. :D

P.S. uff with this conversion ( math ) I have meldted brain .. :grinpimp:

1981 stock HJ-60 4speed, 33's. Get 17MPG city, 20MPG hwy.
I did get 19 MPG city with stock 29" tires, but couldn't ever break 21 MPG on the hwy.

18L/100km

I average between 400km and 500km per tank.

that's with an auto, 38s and 5.29s

Pretty cool

I average between 600km and 700km per 70 litre tank. My truck is pretty stock... 31"s. Mostly city driving right now and I drive pretty hard.

Sorry, I think it has a 90 litre tank... and I can't do the math. Any takers.
