I have a 100 series and the horn went out. Every other control on the wheel works. After doing some research by testing conductivity through the clock spring the horn wire is also continuous through the spring.
With the airbag and horn loose (but still connected) I have been able to remove the blue horn wire and manually try to ground the system to trigger the horn - this is intermittent only when the steering column is in various positions through the middle range of the telescoping column. All the way in or out and the horn doesn’t work.
I am wondering if anyone has experience with continuing to trace down the continuity under the dash or if there is a likely work around that still enables the standard horn to function? Is there a common ground wire or is it the column itself?
Any advice would be appreciated.
