Can anybody that owns a metal tech family cage tell me how much the package weighs when it arrives?

I want to order a cage but dont want to burden my old lady with a heavy ass package when it arrives. I wont be home from deployment for a while but want to start ordering some parts for the 40.

I have a dolly in the garage but dont know if the package will be too heavy for here even with the dolly.
Thanks in advance

Yeah, you probably want to be around when that's delivered. I can't give you an exact weight but it's too heavy for a lady to have to move around alone.

If it's already welded up, WAY to heavy. Took me and my dad to lift mine in and out of the 40 and we struggled doing that.

In pieces, i think she could manage with a dolly. None of the pieces were too heavy by any means for me when i bought mine and i'm a twig

Hi,

I wanna say the tubes weigh about 50 lbs, one box about the same, and the bigger one about 60 lbs. The boxes are pretty easy with a dolly.

Best regards and a safe return from your deployment.

I got the kit. It came on two pallets. It's not to bad though. Four boxes and the A pillar bars were taped together.

Just have your wife get all dolled up and I bet the truck driver will unload it for her! :D

thanks fo rthe response fellas. if the cage is broken down into 2 or 3 boxes then i think she will be fine.

I like the idea of her getting dolled up to have the delivery driver put the boxes into the garage for her. haha, that some funny s***.

have a good one fellas

Del, mine came on a pallet. I can ask the wife if she can move all of it around by herself if you would like.

An FJ40 family cage without a seat cradle will have between 40 and 50 feet of material, depending
on the amount of extra spreaders and gussets. 2" .120 is about 2 1/4 pounds per ft. Total weight
will be about 125~160lbs if you factor in a 40lb pallet. I'm sure the driver will help break down the pallet
so she can move it easier. If not you'll piss her off and come home to a lovely garden sporting really
stout tree stakes

Im thinking i might as well wait a few months to order it. dont want to piss off the homefront.

If you're looking at a kit this is how we ship the cage

A pillar Bundle - 59lbs
B/C Pillar Bundle - 63lbs
Box with smaller tubes and mounting plates - 61lbs

Total of 3 pieces and while they aren't too bad in weight the A pillar and B/C pillar bundle can be awkward for someone to carry around.

Thanks for the response LT.

I will be sure to put my order in as soon as i get back.

Have a good one.
