Metal grill and welding (1 Viewer)

Anyone ever welded on the metal grills? Any ideas if that should work? Thanks

What type of welder?
I see the back of my grille is rusting, so I guess it is steel.

I'd wire wheel or gently sand to bright clean metal and then try out a low weld setting.
Is it cracked or are you attaching something?

Thinking of cutting out the center and extending it out to make room for the intercooler. Haven’t looked real hard at that yet, just thinking.

I have a Harbor Freight pinch/spot welder too. It would work but it would make a divot on the front side.
