I Know another guy is doing one allready but heres mine

I am Fuel injecting a chevy 350 with tuned port injection in my 1964 fj40 with a turbo 400 and a 73 transfercase

It all started going to surf n turf, I blew up my motor some of you may have seen the post. Well i got my warranty motor they said i ran it out of oil, but there was only 1 burnt part on the crank so i think part of the crank wasnt getting oil. but anyways they balmed it on me and i had to pay the core ( 200 bucks ) they picked a number i couldnt argue with cause itd cost me more then 200. to do so in time

Well i took my motor in and the same day ordered my megasqurit kit from the website and waited 2 days and it was here wensday. and i got my long block on saturday, put oil pan, manifold, and all that other fun stuff on saturday and dropped it in sunday. Hooked up my new high pressure fuel pump return lines and all that good stuff.

Its pretty simple to put together megasqurit, just take your time and triple check everything i found about 4 mistakes i made.

Here are some pics of progress

LOL

Two posts down is my MS buildup.

Unfortunately, I had to take a right turn and have decided to go another route (not due to any MS issues)

got my wiring harness made, all wired up and started messing around with it starting. got it to sputter but not idel. got too dark to finish so i will finish it up tommarow

well its all in and i can get it to run but at 1800 rpms, it wont idel

What TB you using?

i am using a tuned port injection manifold off a 89 firebird with 20.5 lbs/hr injectors

cost umm probaly 800-900 dollars
500 for the intake
100 for fuel pump
30 bucks for new high pressure gas lines
135 for the mega squirt
then about 100 on miscalenious things.

time involved would be up around 36-48 man hours. only because ive never done this befor in my life. i was learning as i went along. i could probally megasquirt a engine now in a weekend if i had everything. yea thoese headers are brutal ive been burned a few good times no scars to show tho

( got enough of them on my hands )

WOW the Megasquirt stuff is that cheap!!!! I am doing a 2FE conversion, and was concidering this set-up http://www.sdsefi.com/

I read alot on the megasquirt site, but alot of it was way over my head. Maybe I was just tired, but it was so in depth it turned me off to it, for that $$$ I may look back into it.

So, it is relatively to set-up then?
