Copied and pasted from my FB ad. Happy to answer questions for fellow mudders. A ton of pix and can take more. Asking $35K. Located in Howard County MD. Feel free to pm or text at (443) 574-5066.

Startup video:

1996 HZJ73, 70 series mid length heavy duty Land Cruiser. RHD, 4.2 diesel, 5 speed manual, front and rear differential locks, part time 4wd, a true unicorn. Clean MD title under my name ready for a new owner.

Imported from Japan. 93k miles. Removal FRP top. Suspension seats. Everything works (wipers, AC, heat, lumbar support, even the headlight washer).

New batteries, Toyota coolant, two new batteries, fuel and oil filters, oil, manual transmission fluid using redline GL4, new 33” tires, unused spare, new brakes, front rear diff fluid. Fully serviced!

An absolute head turner. Very clean undercarriage. Some rust on the door (pictured) but the body is mostly clean. Knuckles look good. Mechanically perfect. Starts on one crack, great power. You will hard pressed to find a triple locked 70 series in manual with this mileage.

Happy to send additional pix and info. Selling to thin the herd.

Nice cruiser!
Thank you! I am on a hunt for an HZJ77 for more room and 4 doors so need to make room on my drive way. Between my 97 gwagen and HDJ81, the 73 is definitely the one evokes the most emotion. There is something so guttural when rowing through the gears with the 1HZ. I can pretend to be working in the mines while dropping the kid off at school.

Here are the most troublesome areas on the truck.

I had a FJ73 before getting my HZJ77. I personally feel the 73/74 series was the best platform ever so I am possibly looking to add a 73/74 in the future. I wish I could buy my old one back but I don't think that will be possible.

Oh man thank you for that perspective. Maybe I need to give the 4 door HZJ77 a try before turning in the 73…

Great truck!!!! Unicorn indeed. Might want to specify if this is a 12v or 24v truck. Seems like a 24v based on the batteries. I have been wrong before.

Ah. Thank you. It’s a 24V truck. I’ll update the original post. I will throw in a 24V compatible 12V usb/ 9V socket adaptor for the buyer :)

That looks like a really nice truck and a fair price. Congrats to buyer and seller.
