Our friends in Jefferson State Cruisers, please join PMC and friends of Jeff Bomke one last time on the McGrew Trail, Sept 27 to 29th, 2024.

We had to postpone our last trip in July of 2013 due to Jeff's condition deteriorating so rapidly. More information can be found in the PMC forum.

Hope to see you there... :)

ya, that partial day kicked his butt... We were visiting with him that very weekend.

Very sorry to hear this. If my schedule allows I would like to attend.

Note to self : must peruse Mud more often.
I was unaware Jeff had passed. Sad news.
While I probably won't run the trail, I do want to attend @ Sourdough.
Good memories and good friends.
See you in camp.

It would mean a lot to Lori and I see a good turn out from our friends of Jefferson State Cruisers.

Additionally, I could use an experienced guide to lead the friday trail ride in and someone like to Russ to lead the forest service road group.. I understand the bridge is out so Hiouchi and High Divide for FS road entry and exit I presume.

I will post more beginning in August and focus on this run. Expect pot luck dinner and two ticket raffle as usual.

Will try to get a head count of JSC members as this gets closer. It would be great to have a nice showing down there and reminisce on the fun we've all had with this trail run. Our club was born down there with all your guys support.

I'm game.
Which bridge?

Bridge over Diamond Creek on the Forest Service road in from O'Brien. It is "out" but work has been done to still cross there. Could get shut down again by the Feds and heavy equipment.

I will try and make it as well, Logan drew his first deer hunt and it opens on the 21st, if he makes a kill early in the week, we should make it no problem. If we’re not seeing deer all week, I’ll convince him to call it quits and go wheeling.

I am going to pre-run the FS road this Friday 23rd from O'Brien so I understand the bridge impact.
so basically, if you enter via the trail from O'Brien, you cannot return to O'Brien via the FS road? Do you use Patrick Crk??

Also, I would like to ask someone from JSC who has run the trail and knows the route to lead the Friday trail ride? I have other volunteers to help but no one who has run it before. I will be leading the High Divide route out of Hyouchi.

The main thread for this trail ride is in the PMC section:

Let me know and thanks!

Tony, the bridge is "out" at the Diamond Creek crossing on FS road 4402. If you do not want to deal with the bridge closure then you have to come in through Gasquet or Rowdy Creek from the coast. The Patrick Creek entrance is way before the bridge and not an option to avoid it.

If all goes well here a few of us might be in camp on Thursday evening and meet up with the trail ride at the lunch spot on Friday. I will check with any JSC trail veterans to see if they can lead the trail run on Friday.

That all makes sense having prerun this last weekend. options are in McGrew and out roudy crk, or in and out Roudy Crk.

Thanks Garett, it would be great to see some JSC folks and ideally, bring me a fresh T shirt?? Mine is a favorite and about done....

Chomping at the bit to see old friends.
I’ll be up Friday pm to sourdough.
Any 2xl tshirts from PMC available?
2 meter radios?
What frequency to be used if any?
See you boys (& girls) in camp.

Sorry all but JSC no longer collects funds so we do not have swag, which means no shirts :frown:. Tony, what size shirt? Might be able to come up with a lightly worn still great condition for ya. Still looking for JSC attendance for a trail leader.

JSC freq: 147.470

So I’m still on fence with this trip, it all depends on how Logan’s deer hunt goes. I would like to go in Thursday with the group if I make it. Is that still a plan?
