What is Pre Cup? i did a search and it is not explained anywhere. I am new to diesels so please excuse my ignorance.

Pre combustion chamber. It sits above in the head, above the cylinder. This the concept of a indirect injected diesel. Air and fuel are injected/drawn in here, then the air fuel mixture goes down into the cylinder. IMOp anyhow,

When people say dropped a pre cup, it means the precup developed many crakcs and then lost its press fit into the head and fell down into the cylinder, causing massive damage.
