thanks to Evan and Ellen for hosting!
May run will be May 22. place is suggested as Gordy Hill area in Soccorro before it gets too hot. we will need GPS info or a leader that knows the area.
June meeting- June 5th at my house, since the April one got moved.
June run will be a Jemez camping trip- June 18-20 (Father's Day weekend). by Ham radio we can give gps coodinates for those coming in at different times/days.
we have volunteers to host the July and Aug meetings already, but who asked for the July meeting? Lynn is set for August.
Oct trip to Moab was discussed and it is proposed to to be an expedition style trip to areas that will be soon closed to motorized travel in southern Utah. more discussion to take place on that thread.
we had Mark from NMOHVA came to speak to the club. they are hosting a class (hopefully this month) on how to comment on the forest service's proposal for land use. this is an important thing, because it will be our ONLY way to appeal and attempt to keep our forests open to vehicle travel and camping use. if you want to recieve the NMOHVA emails you can find the info in the new-mexico-off-highway-access-issues. thread. we have been posting those emails in that thread as well. when the class mentioned above is scheduled, we will let you all know.
it was motioned and approved by vote that we donate an additional $100 above our $100 yearly membership to NMOHVA to be put in their land access fund(if/when the budget allows). membership $ goes into their operating budget, there is a different account for fighting closures (legal fees, etc.) that is where we would donate the extra $100. we need some return $ from shirt sales for the budget to handle that expenditure.
anything I forgot?
