Max boost with intercooled 1HD-T (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I run a 94 1HD-T with 260k on the clock. I've installed an air-to-water intercooler and a boost pressure control valve. I'm currently hiting 0,85 bar and would like to increase it a bit more in order to lower EGTs and gain more power . Can I safely run the stock turbo to 1 bar without busting the turbo/engine?

You not gonna hurt the turbo anycase with 1Bar or with 1.5 bar .. the problem here is the engine.

Starting from your engine and turbo are in nice shape, as was I said you can rin with intercooler ( or water - air intercooler ) 1Bar safe ..

.85 bar is deemed to be safe max, turbo changed slightly (read bigger compressor wheel) with the 1hdfte.

Do you have any pics? What type of air water intercooler did you use? Oh yeah and pardon my ignorance what is a bar? A boost measurement I presume?

Edit: Read the other thread 1 bar = 14.7 psi.

1bar=14.5psi.

0.85bar=12.3psi.

It's some french kit installed by a Toyota dealer here, in Portugal. Don't know who makes it, but I'll try not to forget to publish some pics.
