HI, Thanks!! Let me asked it another way. Can I add additional keys such as one with the remote door or another valet, so at least I have two keys, using your instructions?

I wanted to say thanks to bwell for posting this--yes I know the same info has been posted by many. But I wanted to leave a quick note on the sticking door actuator. I too was having issues getting my Cruiser to enter programming mode. After a couple of lock cycles, the drivers door lock wouldn't cycle anymore. Since I had nothing to loose, I tried the following--with one hand I did the lock/unlock cycle with the switch, with the other hand I manually locked and unlocked the physical door lock at the same time. Shazam--we were in program mode!

Thanks and good luck!

Glad that worked out for you! You evidently have more rhythm than I do..... I ended up ordering 4 replacement actuator motors and have since only rebuilt the drivers side door to date. Eventually I will give it another shot.

bwell- I'm having the same issue with programming a new key on my LX. Can't get enough lock cycles to get into programming mode. Wondering if door lock actuator motors fixed the problem for you?

I was able to program the fob for my son's LC, while it had a weak actuator, by hand cycling the drivers door lock (with all of the other doors locked).

As far as programming the immobilizer part of the key, I've never got the magic sequences to work reliably. Techstream seems to work 1st time every time though.

jLB- Thanks for that tip. I'll give it a shot. I had the "chip" programmed by the guy who cut the key, so I can start the car with the new key. Just can't use the remote to unlock the doors.

First of all, where is the security light? I am lookI got all over the dash and can’t see any lights when I insert a key. I have two keys that came with the truck, one is a remote key and one isn’t. I am hoping the remote key is a master key.

Second, can I program the key remote by manually locking and unlocking the drivers door? My master switch will lock, but not unlock the door.

Thanks!!

This is probably no help. However, it worked for me after three months of nonstop searching and replacing EVERY. SINGLE. ACTUATOR. 8490360020 - Lexus Switch sub-assembly, door unlock. Engine | Lexus, Mobile AL - https://parts.lexusofmobile.com/p/63599320/8490360020.html
I broke three of these because my window regulator was loose and causing the glass to shift forward consequently breaking the plastic clip. After figuring that out because I am a little slow on the pickup. I discovered THIS was the culprit and it was not allowing me to go into programming mode. It is the plastic clip sitting on the back of the driver door lock cylinder. If it is not sitting flush it will generate feedback that activates the security system. I hope this is helpful.
