This get to me that before I leave here I need go to the front page and click "Mark Forums Read". All the other forums I visit automatically do this when I leave, so why not here?

I like the fact that it doesn't do it automatically. If I just read a couple threads but don't have time to read others that I want to read, I like coming back and being able to quickly decipher which ones I am current on, and which ones I need to "catch up" on.

May be a valid point; then why options not give a choice? I know of no other forum that is so un-customisable.
vBulletin software only allow it one way, not user selectable.
