Hey guys, I’ve been building a drawer system for my 62 and I can for the life of me find a store in LA that sells marine carpet to finish the project.

Home Depot has a similar look interior/exterior but good luck finding the right color.
plus I find it a little thin for the purpose

I used the HD outdoor carpet on my drawers. Still working great after 10 years.

An upholstery supply place will have it.

Los Angeles is close enough to the Pacific that you should be able to find a marine store or two.

The HD carpet does look good and they sell two types. They have a large roll and a smaller mat that is precut and rolled up for $18ish. The larger roll seems slightly thinner and the “loops” I guess they are called are slightly smaller. My concern is they both seem a little too thick too easily wrap around something tightly like a drawer face, etc. I think I’ve heard mention of a product made for speaker boxes and enclosures that is thinner that might be worth looking into. I also am in need of something more than a coat of poly for my drawers.

I've seen guys use short-pile marine carpet as headliner when they need to, it looks good, and probably costs much less.

For the drawers, I thought about using outdoor carpet for my toolbox liners, but I decided against it. The black thin ribbed rubber hallway matting they sell by the foot works really well instead. Much easier cleanup.

There's a vinyl product that looks very close, probably much cheaper. Don't buy that.

Home Depot doesn’t ship the hd marine exterior carpet to CA.

you’d think la was close enough to the pacific ... apparently not.
