My son is in Marietta, GA and needs a good mechanic preferably familiar with replacing a brake booster in his ‘97 LX.

Anyone ? Thanks a lot.

Any Toyota dealer could replace it. There are a hundred of them in the ATL area.

Peter's shop is up the road in Duluth if your son wants an LC person to do it.

Any Toyota dealer could F up a wet dream.

If you want the best LC guy in the southeast, and someone who is both honest and competent, which is like gold as far as mechanics go, then you should take it to Marshall Shepherd at Trollhole's Cruisers in Simpsonville, SC. Worth the drive from Marietta to Simpsonville to have someone like this who is extremely familiar with the 80 series, which is kind of a unique beast. There are some tricks on an 80 series booster replacement that can save you a lot of money that dealers and most mechanics won't know and wouldn't tell you if they did.

@Trollhole here on IH8MUD

Have heard good things about the Duluth shop. Personally have been using ACC Garage, a LC specialist just west of the 285 loop near six flags, with excellent results.

I also recommend Peter Merriam at Merriam Automotive in Duluth. He has been doing great work for me for years!! I was just in there a few days ago.

Marietta to Duluth isn't bad of a drive, i use to make that trek all the time when i lived in Marietta for over 15 yrs.

cant you just do it yourself? its not that hard of a job imo.

If you’re in traffic, you are traffic.

Seriously though, for a brake booster go anywhere. Let this thread die.
