I could not resist post these pictures I just got from Proffitt's Cruisers-1 1998 HZJ75 pick up, and 5, yes 5, 2000 HZJ79's. I am drooling now...

yep, them theres mine trucks...
it would be fun to turn one into a bush pig...

What is this Proffitts shenanigans you speak of?

And where do I get one?

Proffitt's Cruiser's in Delta Colorado

They somehow are able to source them from within the USA and are mine trucks! Their # is 1 970 874 1212
Google proffitts cruisers also.

Canadian mine trucks are rarely in such nice condition. I bought a bunch of spare parts from one of the Washington mines which uses Cruisers. Or at least did use. They only had one left, last I checked.

Those ones have seen better days. Nothing there that Proffits cant fix.

LOL, bring on the spending, plan on spending atleast 30K to get an HZJ79 into top shape - they will be completely worn out - completely. Also, they look like miller trucks, might have wet brakes on them, so plan on changing everything out on the ends of the axle housings.

My advice, let someone else buy them and spend all their time and money fixing them - then buy one from them.

Or, take one of those, add about 2000 hours of work and elbow grease, 30-50K and you get this:

do a search and you will see the PZJ75 build with 30K into it and not finished
also a HZJ75 search will reveal another one i refurbished... HUGE money invested...

Just dropped another 2K on a new wiring harness and other stuff, new clutch coming soon - I also need a NEW transmission and transfer case and injection pump rebuild. After all that is done I will either rebuild the engine or buy a new one. All that and it sits 2-3 people:)

But - it does haul some ass off road, I am very happy with it.

They must have come from a tight mine. All the rooves are dented on the sides.
The '98 75 series has the removeable roof sides and windscreen frame and would be my pick for a serious frame off resto.

They are LHD ,so it will make them more attractive.

I understand they come from Montana in the USA. Anyone interested should call John or Jeremiah @ Proffitt's for the full story.
I would also pick that one, depending. I am on a mission to get a new HJZ78 hardtop.

Wow, I see that news travels quickly here in the Cruiser world.

Yes, we picked up these trucks for parts. We have an exclusive contract to buy these trucks as parts.

They are all Miller trucks. We acquired 1 HZJ75 with the Clark wet disc axles and 5 HZJ79's with factory axles and suspension. The 5 79's have 3.3L Cummins and TH400's in them and the 75 has the 1HZ/H55F combo. The 1HZ seems to be a replacement engine as it is very clean looking and is the best looking 1HZ we have seen in these type of trucks.

We have already sold 4 of the 3.3L's and the 1HZ is spoken for. We only have the 1 3.3L Cummins left.

Most of the trucks are completely hammered. 1 of the 79's is definitely salvageable and could be made to look pretty nice. You would not have to spend $30,000 on this particular truck to make it look like the one pictured above. There could be another one that might look OK. The others are junk except for the high pinion front and rear axles. Oh, all of the Toyota axles have LSD rear ends as well. Pretty cool.

The frames, front coil suspension, and axles might make a nice base for a 45 body to go on. I'll have to do some measuring but that would be pretty slick if you ask me.

There are no titles nor registrations for these trucks. If any are sold as complete trucks, they will be sold as parts only and for off road use only.

Like I said, they were bought for parts. We were lucky enough to acquire 1 or maybe 2 that could be restored for off road use only. The rest of the parts will live on in other Cruisers.

I really want one of these badly. I don't think the money is there for one, though.

Chop a 60 series into a pick up. Way cooler ;) A 84-90 FJ75 is virtually the same underneath to a FJ60 (in oz)

Saw a 60 ute on the beach converted by the owner who was a qualified panel beater/spraypainter and it was beautiful, alas no camera.

The consolation of the 79 series (78s a troopy) is that there is more leg room than a 75. 100mm?
