hi man just wondering if 14psi was with or with out intercooler? i also have 13bt and lookin for nmore performance... how do i adjust fuel to suit incrteased boost.or does compensator do it automaticaly? cheers any help much appreciated

The engine might be happy, but the OEM little CT-26 bushing turbo might not be so happy after a little while...

good point Stoney, i will check with the turbo place and see what they have to say...

Hi Wayne:

Whle you're there, might as well ask them if they have a "reasonable" (in quotes because it's probably all relative when dealing with turbos) ball bearing turbo that will drop in to replace the OEM CT-26. There's probably a bunch of people interested in that.

okay, the respose from the turbo boys.
the CT26 has a very well designed thrust assembly and as long as the engine is producing adaquate oil pressure and the maintainence is kept up there shoudl be no ill side effect. the cummins turbos are brassbushing design as well and are producing 30 pd of boost.

there is a drop in (or very close to it) BB turbo from Garrett but expensive since the CT26 uses a unique foot print. he is working on a price.

there you go, from the horse's mouth (so to speak).

i have been running 14 lbs of boost for about 2 years on both of my wife's LJ78s... no ill side effects to date.
cheers

Corect my if I'm wrong .. but when you go more than X amount of boost ( I thought in my 2H on 10 lbs ) you need a intercooler coz the temps creating by turbo and air compresed make the air loose O with it go in the chamber .?

an intercooler is a godo thing wiht any boost pressure but i was told over 14 lbs and it is a nessecity...
mind you i could be worng, i do have a poor memory...

There's nothing wrong with a poor memory. You are always meeting new people...

20psi

12 years ago I had a bj-42 3b 38"tyres and stuffed a turbo/intecooler on it and 20psi. Sold it 4 years later and it is still going strong to day. So 14 psi is not bad for a 13BT engine.
