Well my newly machined manifold FINALLY arrived last night along with most other bolts, this is the long delayed part that has led me to start other projects in the meantime.

Before I put it on there are some differences (which I would expect) but also differences in the flap door function.

Here is my old one

Model # 563

It has a rusty but smooth functioning spring flap door.

Here is the newly machined one. #3X9

It has a rusty painted spring but the door will not move, it appears impinged, probably purposefully.

Should I be concerned about the function of this door and the differences of design. I'd like to understand the function and differences as my preference has been to go to stock. I'll wait on an answer, hoping to put it on if it is the right deal.

Thanks
Matt

If I were you, while it's apart, I'd want to understand how it's supposed to work and why it is like it is. The flap will help it warm up. I would want it to be functional, if I were you. Both of mine work.

Thanks Eddy

I was afraid of that and it looks as if my parts aren't interchangeable at first glance. I'll try to figure it out tomorrow, there's probably a limited return time and I'm heading out for a week.

Maybe I can get it to work

Mine is seized in the closed position, exhaust flows down & out. Mine is a summer rig so, warming up has not been an issue. A lot of threads covering the "heat control valve." I think you will be OK
