FNG

Thought I would finally stop trolling around and join up and introduce myself.

Last year I had an 87 4Runner, but shortly before my deployment, I decided to sell it for a few reasons. It was a decently capable rig, but in all honesty, I wanted something bigger, and something with a SFA. Shortly before I deployed (still am), I picked up a '92 FJ80 and (to my wife's dismay) been stock-piling parts that I've found on sale or closeout.

So far I've gotten an Ironman 4" lift, and ARB lockers for the front and rear.

I'm really looking to getting this thing built when I return in November and have some days off to spend in the garage. But most of all, I'm looking forward to hitting some more of the trails in Colorado that I haven't had the privilege to do yet!

Just wanted to introduce myself and not lurk around anymore.

Take care everyone!

Thanks for stopping by. Sounds like you are making good progress from afar. Stick around and look us up when you get back. Stay safe.

Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to learning more about the FJ80, getting home and getting some wrenches on my rig. I did quite a few outings previously with the CoTTORA guys in different parts of the state, but I'm definitely looking forward to wheeling with some cruisers once mine is good to go!

Welcome! I'm glad to hear that we will have another 3FE powered 80 around soon. Sounds like you are collecting the right parts for a really nice build. Look forward to meeting you.

Hello.

My names is Petro, and back in January I moved to Denver from central Australia. As a souvenir of my two years there I brought my 1984 HJ 60 back with me, and am in the process of getting it registered here in Colorado.

The truck is in really good shape, but is going to need a bit of work over the next decade or two, and I'm starting to prioritize the work that I need and what I want. Because of my various hobbies, and our decision to have my wife stay home with the kid I'll not be able to do everything at once. Fortunately the previous (one) owner kept it in awesome shape (I have the original owners manual and most of the maintenance records for the first 180k).

Anyway, Hi!

You can certainly join and come out on runs with us, several people have 4runners. Don't let the lack of a "Land Cruiser" keep you from coming out. These guys are not afraid to share their opinions. Start a thread about your needs and vehicle options.

Oh by the way, good thought on getting your amateur radio license.

I was going through my old posts today and found this. Anyway I ended up getting an fj80 a while back for a great price but it's 100% stock and unlocked for now (i'm a poor college student). When and where is the next meeting? I would love to join.

The next meeting should be this Tuesday (3rd Tuesday of each month) July 16th @7pm. We should have a message on our board about it soon. We meet at Red Line Land Cruisers at 1050 Ford St. in Colorado Springs. Some guys like to go grab brews before hand...so watch for the posts. Come on out!

I think I might... I didn't know it was at red line. I was there just a few hours ago looking for a job. Guess I get to go again. not that i'm complaining with how many awesome cruisers they have there. I'm also underage so no brews for me. haha. I would probably be one of the younger members.

Hey everybody,
My name is Hayden and I own a 1993 FZJ 80. I'm a young gun (20 going on 21 in two months) so I've got a lot of enthusiasm and love working on my truck. I'm already addicted to this thing... put down more money than I can count just to get it how I want it, and I know I'll be making more mods as I save up.
I'm currently in the process of getting my truck back from the hands of my Commander (trivial parking violations), so I will not be at any meets or rides any time in the near future. Just thought I'd introduce myself so that you can put the face to the name when I finally get out with y'all.
Here are a couple pics of my rig. Hope to see you guys soon!

Welcome! Great looking 80, love the black/white color scheme you've got going on. Hope to see you out at a meeting or trail run soon (well, as soon as you get your rig back ;)).

Since Hayden broke the ice built up over the past few months I felt I should at least introduce myself.

Been stuck in FL for a few years and have finally started the migration West. We are renting out past Alamosa, I am hanging down South long enough to sell the house then I will be joining her. Was able to do a bit of work on the 40 while stationed down here, and I am looking forward to do some driving without sweating my tush off. Blanca is on the short list once spring has sprung (real estate permitting).

Generally like just tinkering with stuff and taking stuff apart. Looking forward to meeting folks and thankful there is an active group in the area. Saw more cruisers when I was up for Christmas than I have here in the past few years. I'll find a pic in a few.

I'm digging the black and white 80. I spent a lot of years in Florida, takes me back to see stucco and palm trees. Welcome to the forum. You don't always have to wait until your rig is around to say hello, come out to a meeting, or maybe ask if anyone's go an open seat on the next trail run.

Hey all, my names basil. I may have met a few of you at the China Wall run, I am part of the FJ cruiser group. I drive a 2007 FJ cruiser with too many mods... Im all the way up in boulder but will be joining you guys on the 19th so I thought id introduce myself, and share some photos.
