This is only a concern for certain JDM Kei type trucks, which do not comply with same safety standards as cars, in Japan or US; they are not considered cars. Dont believe all the hype in the articles, read the data and recommendations that the revocation was based on. If the model is a non Kei type vehicle and/or similar model sold in US or Can (all Land Cruisers) you have little to worry about other than customary HS-7 box #1 requirements (the over 25 year exemption).
