Wanted MAINE: FJ40 or Toyota Pickup Bed Style Trailer (1 Viewer)

Looking for a trailer for work/play...might as well tow something unique and Toyota.

I'm located in the Northeast, but willing to arrange shipping or travel for the right setup.

I'm going to be renovating my house in the spring and this will hopefully prevent me from getting a truck!

Last pic is of a M1101 or M1102. Intended to follow a HMMWV. I’ve had 3. All sold as prices tripled. They’re great trailers! I found the military greatly underrated their capacity. I towed them behind my M1028 and M1097A2. However I’d be curious how they tow behind a 40??? They’re the exact width of a HMMWV (85.6”) and have 16” of ground clearance on 37” tires.

Have you thought of looking for a M416 or a M100 or M101? They are significantly smaller than the M1101 or M1102.

Likely going to avoid a military style, would like to focus on finding a toyota style, weather it be an old pickup bed or a new tacoma setup, and obviously a 40 series tub would be the most ideal.

Hey @SEAWOLF , theres a Toyota bed/tailgate trailer on a Mazda truck frame/axle on eBay with a Buy it Now of $950 in North Carolina. I “liked” it and got an offer from the seller of $850. Says he will also trade for guns and ammo.

It’s pretty much exactly what I’m looking for…it’s just such a POS it doesn’t make sense given my distance. I know a local guy here with about ten 40/45 parts rigs and I’m going to see if I can convince him to sell me the worst one to cut up as a project so I can make one that looks like @wngrog red 40 trailer. The guy even has a 45 swb just rotting, but I’d hate to harvest the bed if it were at all salvageable. I need to wait for the snow to melt so I’m in no rush.
