Just took off the mech fuel pump which seems to be shot and put on a MAF blank. Do I need to get shorter bolts to tighten the blank plate down (will the ends of the bolts hit any moving parts inside the engine?) Thanks!! I won't start it until I'm sure it'll be ok....

now it won't start....

well, I tried to start it after I took off the mech fuel pump and put the MAF blank on w/ the stock bolts. It cranks and the electric fuel pump is doing what it supposed to, but it will not turn over. I'm grasping a t straws here, but could the bolts be stopping something from spinning?? I doubt it, but I did have it going after I had the electric fuel pump going and the mech fuel pump still installed and disconnected....

What does "It cranks, but will not turn over" mean? If the motor is rotating when the key is turned to start, the bolt length of the fuel pump blank will not stop it from firing. Must be something else. Do you see spark from a plug wire and gas in the carb sight glass?
