excellent! I'm interested to see what you find.I hope you find a good solution. I'm having the same problem...Yesterday a modified a dizzy clamp from a small block Chevy and replaced the gasket with no sealer.
I'll drive it a bit this weekend, and let you know if it worked...
Don't know exactly what im looking at... Would an O-ring around the distributor help? Those split clamps usually have. Bit of a bevel on the inside edge... Which should help to compress it into the joint.
Just thinking aloud... Feel free to tell me if I'm wrong.
i have a performance distributors HEI and it doesn't have the split base like above... not gasket and no leaks either - it looks like you need some sort of gasket.. either an o-ring.. or a paper gasket.. just got to make sure its not too thick or else risk not engaging the oil pump fully (not sure exactly of the tolerances)
It's been over a week now... and it worked!I now have NO oil leaks! SWEET!!! As for the rust issues...
