like others, have found the provided clamp to be fubar. i used a longer bolt and got it tightened to where the dizzy won't move - but still is leaking oil. initial idea is to use sealant, but wanted to see what others did to fix the problem. thanks!

I hope you find a good solution. I'm having the same problem...Yesterday a modified a dizzy clamp from a small block Chevy and replaced the gasket with no sealer.
I'll drive it a bit this weekend, and let you know if it worked...

excellent! I'm interested to see what you find.
BTW, sealant did NOT work. Really starting to pi$$ me off...

Don't know exactly what im looking at... Would an O-ring around the distributor help? Those split clamps usually have. Bit of a bevel on the inside edge... Which should help to compress it into the joint.

Just thinking aloud... Feel free to tell me if I'm wrong.

i have a performance distributors HEI and it doesn't have the split base like above... not gasket and no leaks either - it looks like you need some sort of gasket.. either an o-ring.. or a paper gasket.. just got to make sure its not too thick or else risk not engaging the oil pump fully (not sure exactly of the tolerances)

Not a bad idea - not sure if it would be better than a paper gasket and sealant, but might be worth a shot. The split ring clamp does have a bevel on the underside like you said.

The paper gasket is there. Didn't work on it's own and didn't work with sealant. What does your clamp/base look like?
