My son in law has been doing machine work since he was teenager and owns his own equipment and has been doing it part time on weekends and nights while he worked a real job. After college, he paid off student loans and then turned around and bought all the machine equipment and gear needed and has worked his whole life to one day have his own shop rather than working out of his fathers.
Some changes have occurred with his day job and he is going full time into the Machine Shop while also continuing to teach machine and engine courses at the local technical college.
