So since there are no MAJOR mods to be done to the 40 this winter I decided to actually do something about how UGLY she is..

Got drunk last night while watching OCC Picked up a couple of ideas...

Also, some nut wanted the gas filler in the tub. I have hated the @&@&@&@&ing thing since I did the body swap in 89 (not a misprint.. 1989)

I love BBQ lids....

All sorts of available options when you need a nice constant radius..

Got the front and the rear of the rear fenders mocked up.

I love white paper. It almost looks like I have already done work to the beastie..

@nd part of getting this crap done is making it ride nicer in the rear. From some of the above pics you can see the rear shocks.. They are at a HIDEOUS angle that is ALMOST useless. And bottoms out whenever I hit a bump. IT sucked. F'n grogan and Rascall were airing (I use that term loosely) it out on the dunes at the TB jambo last year. I knew that if I had even thoguht about it I would not ahve made the trail runs the next day.. So I had to run tha camera with my tail between my legs..

Picked up a set of Pig's BBCS 15" travel shocks for coils.. I really like the integrated bumpstops. WEll, mostly cause I do nto have ANY bumpstops in the rear ;)

Mocked them up to see how everything fits..

BTW, the rock sliders are made by 2BadFJ's
Don't tell me that a body mounted slider can't hold the weight of a piggish 40...

The highlift is one of the big 60" ones..

The 60 on the right is on 35's for refrence...

I can't wait to jump the beastie again..

dude . Thats a killer idea.
Now body panel replacement is a breeze and you can change colors easily.
I would suggest the colored elec. tape tho.

Hey what kind of springs are you running in rear??
They look like coils to me.. :flipoff2:

Good job Mace... I look forward to seeing it in metal.. I suck at that kinda stuff, so I always just cut... As you can tell, my junk needed alot of help in the body tub area.. :p

the leaf spring hangers are where I had my suspension at 104" and leaf springs.

They worked very well that way.

I suppose I should cut them off...
