Hi;

Does anyone have recommendations for Toyota specific mechanics for an overland build on a LC200?
I am located 20 miles west of Boston, but considering itll probably take a while I am happy to look at further distances for best person and price.

A lot of places work on Jeep, LandRover etc, so I really want someone very familiar with Toyota Landcruisers, specifically the LC200.

Any advice would be great.

Roko Vehicles is probably the best around for a Toyota overland build. Johnathan is pretty well known in the community. they are in metro west.

I’m also a Roko customer and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. What are you planning to have done to your truck?

Do you guys know of Roko will do one-off installs of customer supplied products? I've got a pair of ARB steps / sliders that I'd rather have someone install for me. Yes, I can probably do it myself, but really don't want to do so in the cold weather and want to get the box off the floor. This is one of those jobs that's probably a lot easier with access to a lift.

The majority of my early installs with them were all customer supplied parts.

Shoot me a message and I can send them an email introducing you. They’ve been extremely accommodating for everything I’ve needed.

I haven't used Roko for service, but I did recently buy a part from them. They were incredibly communicative and I got the product the very next day in VT. My interaction with them suggests that they'll be good to work with. I'm a big DIY'er, but will absolutely be buying from them again.

A whole bunch of things it would be a pretty decent build, anything from bumpers, to sliders, skid plates, BP51 OME etc

If you looking for another alternative vendor, Mainline overland in Bow NH can assist you on overland build. As usual, NH save you some sales tax.
I did discuss with them, but I walked after I was quoted 5 hours labor at $129.99 per hour to install a WeBoost X.
It literally took me 25 minutes! After that confidence lost with everything on that quote.

Communication etc was all good, I think the labor was just excessively in favor on their side per line item. Many line items were supportive of other jobs on there but would have been billed like each one done separately. It just wasn’t a good fit for me.

no worry. not all shop fit your need.

This shop has help built many 200/570. They know the product they carried.

Used them for a rear bumper install. Would not go back.

@CT3 thanks for the referral to Roko.

I went to their place in Framingham yesterday to have my ARB slider/side steps installed. My initial impression was very good as they were super friendly, the shop was very clean, and I got a good vibe that they know what they're doing. Instead of bringing my work laptop with me and working in the Kia dealership waiting area, I decided to take the day off, get outside, do some walking, and poke around at a few stores. According to the Apple health app, I walked close to 5 miles while I was there just going through Shopper's World and then finding a place to have lunch.

They had given me a quote for the job (based on number of hours) and ended up charging me that amount even though they ran into a few unexpected fitment issues with the ARB returns and the job ended up taking roughly twice as long as originally quoted. In the end, I feel they did a great job and it was well worth the money spent. The job most likely would have taken me quite a bit longer to do on my own without a lift and not being as familiar with dealing with the fitment issues they ran into. I'll definitely go with them again should I choose to make any other mods that I don't want to deal with myself.

That’s great to hear that it worked out. I’ve always found them to be incredibly fair, even when there are unforeseen issues that have nothing to do with them.
