hello all

looking into building a trailer for camping and hauling. right now i'm mostly looking to military trailers and for my application, i'm looking into M101s since m416s are ridiculously waaaaay overpriced at the moment and, for my purposes, the m416 is a bit narrow.

i'm concerned with the width of the m101 because these trailers are about a foot wider than my would be tow vehicle (92' toyota). here's a link with the trailer specs. i've never towed anything wider than my vehicle and i'm not sure what that means in terms of highway handling / aerodynamics, etc.

also concerned because my truck has the 3VZE motor (otherwise known as 3.slow). is an m101 just too much trailer (in terms of size or weight) for my toyota? thanks

PO on mine did a spring over axle and 35's. That meant extending the fenders a couple of inches on each side. It's still narrower than my 80 series. Towing it home I hardly knew it was there.

Here's a link to the Yahoo Group page for the M101CDN. Pic and specs are on the landing page w/o having to be a member.

M101CDN : Canadian M101, 1/4 Ton Trailer

The spec page in the first post is for the American M101 vastly different than the CDN M101 mentioned in the second post. I would keep looking for a 1/4 ton trailer.

CDN 101 is perfect behind a Toyota LC or truck.
US101 is too big. Great for a full size but too much for anything short of a new Tundra
This is a US 101 behind a F350. It works perfect behind this truck. Roughly same width, tracks tight.

You shouldn't have a problem, the size seems fine. At 1340lb / 600kg they are fairly heavy for a trailer though. I can't imagine you having any issues towing it.
