Having a similar problem to those mentioned above with water coming in the pass. front floorboard/footwell. I've checked the windshield front (are there rear drains?) drains on both sides -- water drains out, doesn't seem to be a problem, estimate I get out what I put in. I clean those drains with weed wacker every 6 months or so. My coolant level is unchanged, so it leads me to believe it is not a heater core issue. AC evaporate drain in the engine seemed fine, stuck weed wacker up it to confirm, no grit in there, seems clean. I replaced the rubber grommet that typically gives issues with a drip from AC evaporator this summer, haven't had any issues with water since then from the AC.

My windshield randomly cracked this summer, and I have noticed a fair bit on wind noise from the passenger side on the lower right corner of the windshield ever since I bought the truck (1 year ago). I believe the windshield is aftermarket - Fuyao glass, doesn't say Lexus or Toyota anywhere on it. Is it possible I had a bad seal, that has now formed a leak, and is draining down to the floorboard? I can feel the rivets with my hand when I slide it up along the glass, they do not feel recessed and instead feel like they are pushing out a bit. My A-pillar and glovebox are confirmed dry. Car is dry everywhere except the pass front floorboard/footwell.

I live in Seattle, and generally park outside, so help would be appreciated here... :)

Hi, I had this problem with my 2004 Landcruiser Sahara. Had major electrical issues with water dripping onto the fuses. Checked everything like everyone else (including replacing windscreen) and discovered eventually that the previous owner had taken off roof racks and hadn't sealed the bolts. The bolt holes are straight through on this model! Removed the bolts, put a glob of silicone in each hole, put bolts back in...problem solved.

An update: replaced windshield, still getting water. Sunroof Drains drain fine... stock roof rack is on there, so I don’t think need to check that.... WTH?

Maybe, but they do leak if not sealed, and the water travels down on the roof lining. Someone may have taken the rack off at some stage if you don't know the history. Try pouring water over the roof rack bolts to see if it leaks. Nothing to lose from that!

I never had fuse box issues until I had windshield replaced. Now it gets soaked every time it sprinkles outside. Flashers were on this morning. I’ve had the horn blare nonstop before. The windshield place swears it’s not their problem. They even put on a Lexus windshield after I complained about them using a fuyao the first time. I pulled the soft trim and this is what it looks like. Would this be the source of the leakage? It’s been 4 months and it looks like their screws are very rusty already. I have battery disconnected now until it dries out. Any help is greatly appreciate.

I’m having the same issue with mine. Did you ever get to the bottom of the leak? I’m noticing moisture on the passenger side behind the carpet by the kick panel and the carpet is wet near the right floor mat hook on the passenger side. My guess is it’s coming in somewhere near the kick panel and pools up by the floor mat hook. Initially I thought it was a vapor barrier issue, and there were noticeable holes there but after it rains there’s still detectable moisture. I just bought this car and it does have an after market windshield. I’m working if that is the culprit?

I had water leak on the left (drive's) side A pillar area. The carpet was always wet after it rained. I checked the sunroof drains but it still happened. I finally removed the A pillar cover and partially removed the front headliner so that I could see into the body metal. I had someone spray the car while I was seated inside and finally found a small pinhole leak in the windshield gasket sealant. It never occurred to me that the windshield gasket sealant could be the culprit. Yes, it was an aftermarket window. I applied silicone and it has held up the last 2 years.

Recently had similar leak. It didnt appear to be originating from the usual windshield, roof rack bolts, or sunroof drains areas mentioned. I usually park with front slightly lower than rear so during rain I figured i get more water draining towards engine compartment. The water appeared to be coming from behind the black rubber mat firewall insulation on inside of vehicle that is located under the carpet extending up behind glovebox

I applied silicone along the area where the fender and wheel well metal meet the firewall metal on passenger side where some factory sealant previously was installed but had seen better days.

After one rain event, it seems like re-sealing these areas may have stopped the leak from occurring. 🤞
