LX470 Broken Key

I noticed the key we use all the time was a little wobbly in the key fob. When I tried to tighten the little screw, the whole thing sort of fell apart

A quick search yielded some inexpensive eBay options and the very well regarded (but rather pricey) option of titanium keyfob from a fellow forum member.

I also noticed a rather unusual option from a seller on eBay. For about $18 they can send you a 'flip' key pre-cut for you Lexus as long as you provide them with a key code for your car!!

I called the local Lexus dealership and provided my proof of ownership and got a key code for my car for free. Sent the seller a picture of my key and the key code. They have promised to get the key delivered in 4 days.
I will post an update when I get the new key in my hand.

Those switchblade keys always break. Get the yotamd key and never worry about it. Half the board uses them plus he has been a huge HIH supporter.

The replacement key arrived pre cut. I installed the innards of my broken key into the new flip key case. It was little fiddly to close everything together and the whole package doesn't feel very strong but the key cut was perfect and fired up my truck right away!

I have had the key cover for less than a day. And while I find that all fits together nicely, I can't comment on its longevity.

I went through this not to long ago....ended up purchasing 3 different keys, settled on this one.

Definitely stronger than OEM, not up to titanium standards, but I think it will last as long as the truck will....
