went with a co worker to look over his future house site; passed thru some farms very mild 4 wheelin stuff lots of mud the extrera was leading most of the way (contractor vehicle) he had lots of trac problems on stuff which i did not notice at all in my lx fish tailing had to gun it several times to get going. i think a lot had to do with driving skills also but i thought they are the same as the armada and pathfinder except for better interior items??

Do I dare say it?

This thread is useless without pix!

so who was fishtailing?

Maybe he had some poopy tires too. If his Xterra didn't have the optional rear diff lock then it was definitely gonna have more trouble than the LX with it's LSD. The LSD on the LX is nice to have, always engaged and seemless in function. Alot better than nothing!!!! :D

Pathfinder has unibody construction. Xterra has body on boxed frame. Armada is on same platform as Titan which is also body on frame.

LSD is always a plus. Especially on the 100, it works flawlessly

They went back to body on frame for the new pathfinder.

Ah,good for them. Thanks for the correction. I haven't been keeping up with the latest Nissans trucks/SUV's.

Unfortunately, I am a big car/truck nerd, so I know these things.:D

I didn't know that the LX/LC had an LSD. Is this true for all model years, or only before the ATRAC models?

Only 98-99 LX's had rear LSD. 98-99 LC's had an open differential but optional locker. This applies to the US. You Canucks might get something different. ;)

AFAIK there are not too many noticeable differences between the US and Canadian models. This applies to the LX only. The LC is not sold in Canada for unknown reasons (too much PITA for Toyota?). Weird because you can buy the LC in almost any European country, and there is not a single road that is not paved.

I can only think of 4:

1- km's iso miles
2- some different icons on the dash (for brakes, headlights etc)
3- DRL
4- washers on the front bumper for the headlights. my LS has these as well, I love them.

Item 4 brings up a question. Did anyone ever move the washers onto an ARB bumper? Or any suggestions for other nozzles that are easier to mount and less fragile?

Thanks

IIRC, some Canadian LX's have the rear differential lock.

I think this was only for 98-99 as well. But I'm interested to hear if there are any Canadian 00's and later with diff-locks.

Maybe

Maybe I should re-post my question about the headlight washers as a new thread. This is a totally different topic than the topic of this thread.

hello sorry for not taking pics it was raining off and on and the ground was muddy we did not even take pics of the site where he is going to build his house. anyway the extera is new i dont know to much about them but this one had that rear step bumper which i think is a 06 model option only and he was fish tailing sorry for the confusion i thought i made that clear he was having much more trouble out ther then me. the thing i forgot to mention i am not even sure if it was 4wd my friend said they do sell them as 2wd models which i did not know.
