Does anybody know what size and thread pitch the fitting is on the top of an LV tank? I should have taken a picture. It's a brass 90 and looks like straight threads...not pipe threads. After 48 years the vinyl? line that ran through the frame is toast. I need to find a hose barb fitting that screws onto the 90 fitting. I plan to use a small piece of rubber line with a filter then go to a hard line on the frame and back to rubber with another filter in the engine bay.

I took the female side fitting to the store and tried to figure out the size. No luck. Next stop will be the Parker Store. They are local and stock or can make pretty much any automotive or industrial plumbing part. I need to go there anyways for some custom brake lines. Cooleset thing about this place is a ton of stuff is on the show room floor. Cause you might see something that you need and didn't know existed.
I'll report bask asap if I find the size and part.

U da man! :D

I haven't made it to the plumbing super store yet, but I do have some info.

I removed my return line from the carb (1974). The line was kinda rough so I cut it down. The fitting with a small section of line and the feral fit the LV tank outlet. Still don't know the thread size.

Worst case I will slide a hose over it and clamp it. Best case, I will find a hose barb and use that.

If I find the hose barb, I will grab a couple to share.:grinpimp:

My guess is that it would be metric. Does anyone even sell metric fitting stuff? How about a Metric to American conversion piece? Have you checked McMaster-Carr? Also, Royal Brass and hose.

The problem with anything online is that you will be guessing if that's the right fitting? I really don't want to order a bunch to find out none of them fit. Someone has to know this size as it is the same as the carb fittings.

I understand. Do u have a thread gauge? I have one but have not cked this fitting. With gauge u should be able to fit the answer.
