LSD on 80

Is anyone can tell silly me if they are standard/optional? Is it easy way to figure out if car has (has not) LSD?

to my knowledge no 80's have lsd, maybe you mean differential lockers?

Thanks. No I meant LSD, I know that lockers available as an option. Also LSD IMHO is standard on 100 - this is why I curious

Only LSD in 80 series is the viscous coupler in the newer centre diff. Other that that it's full open or electric locker.

The two axles don't have LSD diffs.

The GXL and Sahara in Aus both come standard with a LSD in the rear unless you order factory lockers

My LC has LSD in the rear and open diffs up front. I had the impression that it was standard fare.

A simple way to test if you have LSD is to lift the rear and turn the wheels by hand with the gear in neutral. If both rear wheels turn in the same direction you have LSD.

Or... pull the front driveshaft, lock the center diff, then lift one rear wheel and see how far you get.

Perhaps we should think not of an LSD on an 80, but an 80 on LSD!!!

My HDJ-80 (fulltime) came with a factory equiped LSD ... which can be adjusted to be less bias ... in my case the diff housing had a sticker that reads LSD facing towards the rear
