My understanding from NW Fuel Injection and Valley Fuel Injection is that the luibricant products such as Standyne are excellent lubricants. However, they both say that there is no product yet which replaces the aromatics need to keep rubber seals in good condition. At the same time, I understand from the biofuel forums that biodiesel will swell rubber seals and counter act seal shrinkage and cracking from ULSD. However, at the same time biodiesel in higher percentage mixes will over time soften and break down natural rubber seals and hoses. I have never found any documentation on which concentration is best or safe for rubber seals and hoses over the long run. Perhaps others on here know better. My solution was to pull my IP and have all the seals replaced with the newer viton seals. With one seal already leaking, I was not willing to take the chance of the IP shaft seal leaking and pumping diesel into my crank case oil. Even with the seal retrofit, I will still continue to use Standyne for the extra lubrication. It is cheap insurance against another costly IP failure. Happy New Year, John
