hello guys! has anybody here have tried to lowered a landcruiser 100s? a friend of mine was telling me to install the 80s rear spring since it is softer and shorter but i have to cut the bump stopper so it wont bottom out. does anyone know the length of lx450 and landcruiser rear spring? :) im planning to lower it 1.5 inch drop.:grinpimp: any help would be appreciated. thanks

Here in the gulf they do it alot .. by cutting thr rear spring but that dangerous and make the ride bouncy .. when you lowering the car you want stiff ride and cutting body rolling .. Zeal is your answer ..

I believe this is backwards. The 80 spring should give you about an inch of lift. It is longer than a 100 spring. For instance, an OME 863 spring yields over an inch more lift on a 100 than it does on an 80. You probably need to find a suitable spring designed for lowering your 100, like EL_3grab posted up.

LOWERING a 100 ?...Isn`t there some kinda "untold" law against that ?

;)

Get some sweet 22's too.

if you want on road performance .. lower the LC and use 19 inch wheel .. and low profile tire like eagle from goodyear .. this is the best .. go with Rays Rims

dont forget them spinners and ground effects ;p

Ok guys before you continue to think HDJ100L whats to make his rig to a bling machine. Here is what he told me.

According to HDJ100L, his truck sits 1.5in higher in the rear than my LX470 on normal height mode. So basically he wants it to lower it back to normal height.

Does a non AHC cruiser have a higher rear height to comphesate for load? HDJ100Ls cruiser is designed to occupy 10 people.

From the service manual that I saw, the normal ride height for a 100 is the rear trailing arm close or at horizontal position with no load. Can some one verify this? Thanks!

If his HDJ100 is designed to hold 10 passengers, then I would think it would have heavier duty springs and possibly shocks. How about just swapping with springs with the standard duty springs...

or raise the front end to match the rear?

Here are the body height specs, and procedure, from the handbook.
Enjoy.

(my first attachment. Hope it shows up)

Handle pretty good over 100 mph...but missing Turbo

Here's fully JDM kit, rollin '24x11 custom made light weight rims with 325/35/24 Pirelli Scorpion Asimmetrico.
-5 inch dropped all four, JDM Espelir spring sport package.
-Sport Rancho RS-R 5 way adjustable.
-JDM "FR and "RR adjustable panhard rod.
-JDM TRD "FR and "RR sway bars, bushing...etc
-4+ Extreme Duty Relay, Tie rod and Tie rod end kits.

and total of $7000.00 (rims and tires) + $3000.00 (all the necessary suspension kit) = $10.000 :grinpimp: not include JDM dual cat back exhaust system $1300.00 :flipoff2:

To me it just doesn't matter if you lift or lower only that you take pride in your ride. I am not personly into lower a LC but I appreciate the work that went into doing it. The 100 forum will continue to grow if we accept everyones LC rides. But this is more my style... shotts ride is well, tight!

Someday I might get close...:crybaby:
It seems to be that the LC's here and in Aussie land get the lifts and the Euro and Japan ones get modded?

For lowering the rear of the LC 100 this board has consistantly recommended the following:

1. Sleeoffroad rear bumper
2. Fully fueled ARB Longranger Fuel tank
3. African Outback drawer system and ARB fridge on Slider
4. 33 or 35" Tire to put on bumper

add beer, tools, recovery gear until desired ride height is attained.
