I was looking at the Steering Shaft and as far as I can see there 3 Yoke/U-Joints in there:
- Upper for Steering Column Tilt
- Middle (the one connecting Lowe and Intermediate Shafts, at Firewall). This one is actually replaceable
- Lower (between the Lower Shaft and Power Steering Box)
As I mentioned only Middle is replaceable. The Lower is open to environment and can get freezed as the angle between PS Box and Lower shaft is very little, so its not much moves when you steer.
My question is how to unfreeze, lubricate and prolong the service life of this Lower Steering Shaft U-Joint (Circled in Blue, the Left U-Joint on the image attached)
Dealer sells the Lower Shaft with U-Joint as assembly and want $700 for it, which is very expensive.
