I know i know, tons of info out there on springs. But my head is swimming already and a lot of stuff i can't find spring rates on. I am looking for rear springs that are around 250lb (like the OME 863) but short. About 22-22.5" at the fender flair. That is about a 2" lift.

I have a 80 that weighs 6100lb daily and when i go out it does not get much more weight. Full armor, labs swing oit rear, aux tank. Still around 6100lb. I have 850/863s in it and with full tanks in the rear i am 22.5" driver (perfect) but 23 7/8" pass. I know i could raise the driver side but what i really want is to keep her low. I like the low CG.

Back when i was about 21.5-22" all corners i had PERFECT alignment specks using Landtanks plates. I just remembered it drove so nice. If i end up raising the rear to level i know myself and i will then raise the front a little with J springs. Then i know i will end up redoing the caster corection with Delta arms or something else. I know that would be nice but i have no need for a 3-4" lift on 35s even though i know it is about perfect. As i now use the truck it gets me to where I fly fish, ride moto and camp. 2" lift, 33s (now has 35s), full armor, lockers, Marlin gears, M12000 is more than capable. Seriously, after owning this thing 15 years all can say is that a well built (mildly built) 80 is still stupid capable unless you go looking to get it stuck. Rant off. Any ideas of low stuff springs other than 862s?

Try @TRAIL TAILOR

I swapped outta my OMEs, and into some that he recommended. Lowered it about 1 1/2" and put me at 22 1/2" hub to fender. (no flares) I dont think Im as heavy as you are, but fairly close with tire carrier, sliders, under belly, etc. Ive had it out 4 times, and it did sit taller at first, and are breaking in nicely. Rides and flexes a LOT better too!

You can put your 862s back in with a 2" spacer those are 170/260# the 863s are 250#.
Dobinson is a good brand, I also have been happy with my Toughdog 220/280# 1" lift for years. I run light then in 5 minutes can add 1,000 of load with people, dogs & a ice chest. Should of got the 2" but I have added 1.75" of spacer on top.

1" Front TDC948SL ~ 490/480 ~ 16.5 wire ~ 200/250# ~10 wraps
1" Rear TDC949SL ~ 490/470 ~ 17mm wire ~ 220/280# ~ 8.8 wraps

I have Toughdogs, couldnt remember the name brand when I posted. Like I said, couldnt be happier with them. I did not like the OMEs for what I was trying to do, and read till my head hurt about Dobinsons. Just seemed like there were so many variations and reviews on them.

With that much of a height difference in the rear, mine had what I called the "Heep lean". There is a difference in spring height for the d/s vs the p/s. Have you tried switching them? I put them in on the wrong side, and when I did switch them it leveled out side to side, but still had the stink bug/sat to high.

About a week after I swapped springs, I went with the @eimkeith RAM and it is perfect. Alignment was spot on, only thing I had to do was correct the steering wheel a little bit.

Still not happy with how the front works, so I am gonna be starting a 3 link front next weekend. But thats another story....

I'd reach out to Dobinsons and see what they recommend. I've been happy with my 1.75" lift, I didn't want to go too high.

Do you guys have any pictures of how yours are sitting with these springs in?

Front .75" TourFlex plus 25mm lift.
Rear 1" Toughdog plus 30mm plus 10mm.
Add from 20" from stock fenders.
Also have 1" body lift.
So roughly 2.75" Front & 3.25" rear.
It squats about .75" with an extra 850#s.

The 866 coil is a 40mm lift 240/300# dual rate.

Thanks for all the good info guys. But mostly thanks for humoring me on this topic. I think i ask the same basic info every 6 months because I am indecisive. I have so much good data including my vehicle weight (6100lb full tanks, tools and recovery gear) that this should be easy for me. Also my load in the truck is actually pretty constant which should make it easy. I have all the heavy stuff like bumpers and aux tank. But i also travel very light when i camp. Just food water and some backpacking gear. No back seats just a memory foam mattress, never passengers except my wife (and she aint fat). So every time I call a company and describe the build they all say "heavy" which is probably right. But even "loaded up" for a week I maybe only add 200lb. I have a local guy that has a set of 860 springs cheap i will give a try. They should lower it by 3/4" if my math is right. They are cheap enough that i might give it a try to at least cross them off the list if they dont work.

Well the 862s & 866s are $200 on Amazon.
Most OME used coils go for $100.

Keep me posted on what you decided.
I'm just a curious person....

Sorry, just saw this. I have the 0-660# rears, and a "winch weight" front. (per Jason's PM) They put me right at about 2". No spacers, and using your RAMs. I will get the numbers off the springs next time Im under it for you

On a side note, your LLS are taking a beating and holding up really well!!! Highly recommend these to anyone whos gonna have they're pig out this low on the rocks!!

I'm thinking I might need to try that spring combination...

Glad you like the LLS! Lee took a BIG hit on his and got nice dent - would've caved in his factory mount, no doubt.
