After the impressive performance of the 80's at CM, we are thinking of replacing our travel vehicle (4 runner) with an 80. Other than the obvious, mieage, lockers, etc., what should I be looking for? Thanks in advance!

Trying looking for the search button:flipoff2: , this has been nailed down to a science, and reading the info already available will do you more good than random posts to this thread....

I switched from a Runner to an 80, no regrets whatsoever.

Just look for one in good condition with maint records. Same as any other car. The 95-97's seem to command the most money and have the most safety stuff (door beams, airbags, etc). good luck!

Check the FAQ here and the newbie guide on the Slee Offroad tech pages. Lots of info there.

Start with these then come back with more detailed questions. :)

thanks for the links...very helpfull!

You're in Fruita? You live near Bill Burke. Find him, introduce yourself, and use him as a resource. Tell him Heather said "hi.";)

You don't want an 80 they suck

Ask NorCalSam how his trip up Hells Gate was in our 80. I think he really wishes all 80's were his.
