I am looking for a good FJ60 for sale. Would be willing to have it shipped to my current location. I am hoping to find one that my sons and I can work on together.

Bama,

I just listed my 1987 FJ60. So far I have spent about $2,700 getting the engine and drive train back in good working order. My son and I switched to a 1987 4Runner to rebuild, so I am selling my FJ60. It needs paint, shocks, springs, wheels and tires. All typical upgrades that can be done over time. The operating end of the truck is already complete and it drives great. Turns over with a touch of the key.

if your looking to build one start looking up some of the prices on what your going to do to it. I your going to do a full build maybe check mine out it will save you a ton being I have already done most of the big build items. I have over 10k into it and im willing to deal to make a deal. just had a new baby and had to buy a new work truck and need some cash so my toys have to go.

Parts

Bama,

As to availability of parts. i have not had any problems getting mechanical parts, both stock and after market items. Years ago it was hard to find a lift kit or adapters for the Land Cruisers, but that is not the case anymore.

Interior items may be a challenge. The specific trim pieces and bezels take a bit of searching, but with the internet you can typically find everything you want. Plus, if they are asking too much...make them an offer.

You have to look at it as part of the fun of ownership.

I have a fj62 that all of the drivetrain except the motor has been rebuilt. The engine has 192,000 miles on it but doesn't smoke, leak or use oil. If your just looking to add the toys to it this one would be a great starting point. It's listed on these forums as 1990 fj62 (angusbull). By the way, I'm in Florida and the truck was bought out of AL

Just saw your post where you are looking for a good 60. I have an 87 that I've been restoring for over a year now (as funds permit). It has new paint, suspension, among other things. I'm assuming you live in Alabama. I'm in Roopville, GA which is roughly 45 minutes from Anniston, AL (for a point of reference).
