Anyone have or know of a decent mountain bike, that works, needs nothing, and has full suspension, for cheap cheap. Like $100 or so (or less!)
I won't be doing any downhill racing, just riding around with the kids really and perhaps jumping off a log or something when the mood strikes.

There is quite a few on CL, but I'll give a shot here first.

I could fix up my old bike I guess, but it's 20+ years old, has no suspension, needs new everything, and is day-glo neon :p

Day-Glo neon is back in style. Just sayin...

I actually have nothing useful to contribute to this thread. Sorry.

Decent full suspension that will withstand jumping off logs for $100? I got nothing. Add a zero to the right and you'll hae no trouble finding something.

While there are bikes for $100 on CL, I would not trust any that I quickly perused to withstand anything than a toodle on the Sea Wall.

I think Jeff is more of a zero to the left kinda guy.

:)

Cheap bastard! Enjoy your SuperCycle!

Just buy a hard tail front suspension bike - I would not buy any full suspension bike that cost less than $500 used.

Yeah I picked up a nice hard tail Cannondale front sus bike a few yrs back for $100. I have now ridden it twice.

the only used full suspension bikes you'll find on CL for $100 are the walmart/CT bikes you find new for $125. POS tanks. if youre going to be riding around the hood with the girls, you wont need any suspension. you can find decent bikes for close to that price if you look for hard tails a few years old. look for brodie, rocky mountain, maybe specialized or trek. theres a few on CL for 140-175ish.

...whos been on his bike more on the track & trails in the last year or so, than his cruiser in the woods...sadly :frown:

So what you're telling me is you want to unload it for $100. Or perhaps a pintle hitch and a case of guiness ;)

Damn you and your wise counsel! My ass wants a cushy ride, but yeah you are probably right, I just don't want to spend that much.
