Try a couple of breed specific rescues. I got a super awesome GSP from a GSP rescue. I spent a couple month training her. She is super smart, willing to please, wants to be where you are and sleep under the covers. They are versatile, great hunters, retrievers, pointing and outdoor dogs. All around super dogs and will run all day. I get compliments every time i'm out with them esp on how they are trained. Short hairs can easily go past 15years.
