1977 and 1978 saw a few different VRs. Try your dealer - for my 7/78 I can buy a reman Denso for $36 or so. I would avoid anything from your local parts store or any 'house brand' products.

a 12/77 USA spec. FJ40 can actually have 3 possible oem voltage regulators
- COLD spec. / SNOW VERSION package
- California Emissions
- NON-SNOW VERSION NON -COLD SPEC federal Emissions
so a photo here is simply required , post at lease 3 below ,

is this not legit or good quality? assume it's not at half the price? big risk in this item? see it has no plug.
