My father-in-law ran over to the shipping terminal yesterday and picked up a little package for me. It's going on this weekend. I'll probably wait a while to paint it. The weather sucks and it's too cold. :frown: But, there's no way its sitting in my garage on a pallet until the weather warms up! :bounce:

You're gonna love it Greg. I don't see, in your picture, the swing-out tire carrier spindle. Did you order yours without this or just bad pic?

FYI: If you wheel it off-road you might want to have a smaller resonator and tail pipe installed so that it is tucked up and protected. Otherwise if you, like I did, drop down off a ledge you will probably smash the tailpipe between the bumper and obstacle.

That looks oddly familiar ! ;)

Congrats !

Just the sheer weight and build quality makes it worth the $$, but just WAIT till you see it on your rig !!! :grinpimp:

Cant wait to see the pics !

Nice bumper. I was just up at Christo's shop yesterday and had the sliders installed. I saw one of his trucks with the rear bumper installed - it was VERY nice. Nice enough that I had one earmarked from the next batch that should be in sometime in April.

Gonna be a long wait.

Just kidding. I'm :bounce: with envy.

I think the 100 market is keeping Christo very busy. Which in turn will help him bring us more goodies to the market!!!!

Man that is some good looking work too. I can't wait till that goes in my shopping cart.

That bumper looks even better in person that on the web. Very clean lines, nothing gaudy. It is really too bad there isn't a front bumper to match yet.

(Christo, you can use my LX for your first front bumper, if you like! :))

I bought it without the tire carrier. I like the look of the tire carrier, but I don't want to deal with it while getting in and out of the rear so much. That's why I did the spare tire mod a couple weeks back. I plan on protecting the spare with a skid plate I'm going to fab.

As far as the tailpipe goes, I haven't really thought too much about it yet. I believe Shotts cut his a little shorter to deal with that very issue. Once it warms up a bit, I'll give it a look-see.

Thanks guys for all the comments. Yes, it looks bad-ass on the 100! I installed it Friday after work. Then it proceeded to snow all over it. I'll take pics once the snow melts off.

Does it really weigh 200 lbs.?

Not without the tire carrier..I`d say 140-150 lb for the bumper only

OOp.. ya beat me to it Christo !

I would like to upgrade the rear bumper someday but not with the tire carrier. 150lbs. without the carrier sounds reasonable.

It sure is pretty though;)

I was leaning towards ordering mine w/o the carrier....
Then I thought about all of the added benefits of getting the bumper w/carrier...

You have the option of carrying TWO spares if desired for long expeditions..

When NOT carrying a second spare ...that huge void underneath could be used for FUTURE additions (spare fuel tank, custom storage container for recovery equipment, water/air tank, compressors..etc), even if you dont have the need for them right now...

The added clearance and safety (of the spare) being on the rear when doing more challanging runs with dropoffs and sharp rocks...

The wonderful High-Lift AND light/antenna mounts...PLUS the eye-catching look of the spare on the rear ...(BTW...Its not NEAR as big a deal as I thought to unlatch and swing the spare out of the way to access the cargo area either :)

AND most importantly...the OPTION of adding or removing the swingarm itself (which is VERY easy to do BTW) as needed for various uses/configurations when planning for a trip/run..!!

The Carrier model (w/o the swingarm/latch hardware installed) still looks GREAT, all ya have to do is cap off the spindle mount on the bumper with something as simple as a large pill bottle painted black..pop it off and the swingarm is ready to roll !!

Its what I call a "modular/expandable" system if you buy it all at once..

Sure, its 7 bigones more to start with, But what can ya do (after the fact) if there is NO spindle and a swingarm sitting in your garage ?...

NONE OF THE ABOVE.. without of course, purchasing (IF its even available) all that extra stuff that comes w/the carrier model, not to mention the spindle ..and I bet that would set you back MORE than $700 !!

Bottom line (for me at least).. I feel I have the best of BOTH worlds with this carrier model.. :grinpimp:

Each location for a spare tire is a compromise...underneath is a PITA to get to when you actually need it; inside...not an option on mine; rooftop...yea right...not only do you further reduce the MPG but hefting a 33" or 35" up and down: No thanks.

Like you Sin I thought the unlatching, swinging and latching was going to be a bigger deal than it actually is...especially during hunting when the dog is in/out, etc. But, for me, this location (and Christo's excellent design and construction make it pure joy to use) is best...

Yep, probably 140-150 w/out carrier. The difference is not that much though because the factory hitch is heavy too. It is very beefy and probably weighs between 80-100 lbs, plus another 10-15 lbs. for the factory bumper. I'd say the difference is 50-75 lbs at most for the Slee rear compared to the stock tow hitch and bumper.
