Daugher just passed her driving test this morning. :bounce:
She's a legal driver now! At least some freedom for the wife from being a taxi driver! She passed the first time and that's becoming harder and harder to do here in Kalifornia for teenagers. They're getting tougher on them every year.
She still can't ferry our son around for six months outside of to and from school, and even that takes a 'note' from the principal of the school. Kalifornia law with new teen drivers. They can't have other kids in the car for the first six months w/o a licensed driver over 25 with them. Exception is the to/from school rule.

They should make it harder on them. I thought it was way to easy in my hometown to get a licence. Then I found out that down here my wife took her driving test on a closed course!

I passed my driving test on the first shot also...however neither my sister or brother did...they both could drive great, but my brother's test vehicle was a Honda civic that wouldn't run, so at every stop sign he had to shift it into neutral, brake with his left foot and keep the engine revved...apparently that is considered bad and they failed him for taking it out of gear while driving...I guess stalling in traffic and getting rear-ended is preferred..

Not sure why my sister didn't pass, she is still pissed to this day about that...heheh, maybe I remind her again tonight.. :D

I'll be sure to send her up - she has a Disney pass. I'll just tell her to look for a heavily modded Lexus :princess: in the parking lot and to soap the windows. hehehe

Yep, a Scion Xa. Great little car for her. Time will tell if it's got the same Yota reliability. No reason it shouldn't. It's been in the ROW for several years.

When I had my drivers test it was a joke. Chesterfield Co., Va circa 1983.

DMV on the corner of Beach and Rt 10.
Exit DMV turning right onto Beach
    Turn right on Rt 10
Enter DMV turning right off of Rt 10
Park - Walk back in the building and smile for the camera.

I passed on my first time as well. The Guy that did my test must have tipped the scales at about 450-500 pounds. It was a joke to watch him get into my moms 1986 Nissan 200sx. He almost ripped my doors off getting in and out. I then went on to take the test, and he didn't even realize the car was a stick. He told me to put the car in park when I was done???

I think by Labrat11's reaction, you insulted him mabrodis. Must've taken him 6-7 times...you know the more the better. hehehe :flipoff2: Either that or his instructor came from the cheerleader thread!

Nope - no insult taken. I know were a bunch of smarta$$es here :D :flipoff2:

Just remembering the days of the small farming community of perhaps 1,000 I grew up in. Suburban sprawl has taken it all away (sigh)
