Longfield spline engagement

I'm trying to install the inner axles into my new 30 spline Longfields. In the first one on the left, there was a click when I pushed the axle shaft in and I was able to stop there. In the second one, I pushed hard as I had a much harder time getting it in and the axle went in all the way leaving almost no splines visible. So I started to tap the inner axle out, until it also clicked to a stop. That is when I took these pics. As pictured neither axle will not slip out of the Longfield, but there is an obvious difference in the amount of splines showing. Which one is inserted the correct amount? Or are both correct?




I'd call Bobby on the phone, but he deserves his day off too :)

Good job, Cruisin. Bobby replied on Pirates that the right one is likely the old style that should have a martack on it. The splines are indeed longer on it.
