Trailgear bought longfield yesterday. Sad but thats how the cookie crumbles.

Well, QC just went to s***.
Along with the true lifetime warranty. TG has so many opt outs for honoring their "lifetime" warranty on certain parts that even having a warranty is laughable.
that's truly sad. hopefully his family is well taken care of by the money from the sale. TG has had some real douchebags work for them in the past
so much for my superset lifetime warranty... ****.
Ugghh…how unfortunate. Sad end to a dynasty of quality and service. That's like Golden Corral buying out Delmonico's.
Luckily, they're so good that you'll probably never need a warranty at all.
that sucks to hear, but hopefully they made a boatload. i just got some birfs in the mail from them today and was hoping to upgrade to 30 splines in the future
Terra was so helpful in emails and on the phone. Based on other peoples experiances, i doubt TG will be the same.
Probable dumb question, does this mean that TG is going to be the place to get the worlds strongest toyota axles now?
Sad but not surprising at all.
Sad day. Wonder how its going to work on warranties ? They had a top notch product.
I don't know enough history about the brands, but given what I've heard about Frail Gear aka Trail Mart etc etc, this doesn't seem like a good move. Hopefully they leave the Longfield line and its production intact!
They may have just bought 'em out to eliminate competition. Hope not.
I wouldn't hold my breath .....
Yeah I think this is a sad day indeed in the cruiser world. I won't be buying anything from trail gear guess I better go find a 60 front axle

That sucks! I may pull mine and set them on the shelf. Who knows what a set of slightly used pre-TG Longs will go for in 5 yrs.
On a more serious note... Longfields although fathered by Bobby are manufactured by RCV. Although unlikely, I hope that they continue to manufacture them and TG doesn't change to the spec sheet.
However, our warranties are likely F'd!
Damn! Can you still get "real" longfields from his wife? Or is everything completely over to TG?
