Hey guys I know this has been covered a bit but I just want to make sure before I blow $400 on new hubs.

I have an 1982 bj42 and it appears to me I currently have the long Warn hubs. I want to put a set of Aisin ones on when I overhaul the front diff.

Being an 82' I should have the short birfields yeah?? So a standard set of Aisin ones should fit no dramas?? Like these.

I just wanted to make sure coz my hubs look long as hell.

warns only had 1 size, not sure what hubs those are.
if your rig is stock it should have the short birfs.

I've seen that type of Warn hubs on a lot of CJ j**ps. Most of the folks I wheeled with would swap them out for the premium versions.

Nearly every cruiser before 79 has Warns. There were other brands but Warns were most common. FJ55s had a tall Aisin
in 1978. I bought a 1978 FJ40 new from the dealer in Jan '78. All 40s came with drive plates before 79
Factory hubs were not an option on the 40. The dealer would add Warns for twice the price. By late 1979 factory
hubs were available for the 40 along with the shorter birfs. The long hubs would only be needed
from 76 through 78 models.

Awesome thanks for your help guys. I'll order that set of Aisin's.
