I do have a couple of rust spots by the windshield that I am a little concerned about but all in all pretty clean. Oh, and the missing mirror bezel.

Thanks for the welcome everyone and I will definitely get on that trans cooler! She needs new paint/clear coat too but I am going to do a full tune-up first because I didn't really get to talk to the PO...so, I have no idea when the last time anything was done with her. Also, thinking of doing the OME just because I hear that it makes a world of difference for the ride and they look great with a small lift and a little bigger tires.

Wow, with the exception of the grey interior that looks exactly like the 62 that I bought 20 years ago. Still going strong BTW. Welcome. Great looking truck. I like it. A lot.

A full look thru/tune up is what I definitely would do first. Replace old cracked hoses, new plugs, oil change?, timed and dialed in. I put an OME on mine and it definitely does a world of difference. Not only does it handle better on the road IMO it also looks real nice with 4" up. BFG tires and you're all set!!!

Good looking 62. Welcome to the fold.

Definitely doing:
Oil change
plugs
wires
cap
rotor
fuel filter
tailgate lifts (already done)
belts
And I will look over all the hoses

I have read that some people take the chrome trimming off of the roof drip rail and windshield....would this be worth doing?
Also, I hear that replacing all of the vacuum hoses is a good idea as well.
Any insight is appreciated!

I feel like the hardest part of this whole journey is going to be finding the time and money since my obsession has materialized! lol

Yes, do replace the vacuum hoses.
Change them one at time so not to mix up the routings. It makes a a big difference cause it could fix an existing cracked line.

So where was this truck originally from? Local in AZ or somewhere else?

It was originally from CA...I think San Jose. I bought it is central AZ. I think the PO was the second owner but am not sure. It was a weird situation when buying it. I bought it from the PO's friend because the PO couldn't get away from work. I might call that friend and see if he can give me anymore history of the rig because I don't really know a lot about it.
It came with the Big Toyota manual (I was stoked about that), has the OEM tool bag and jack, OEM floor mats....it looks to not really been off road at all...there are barely any scratches on the skid plates.
