Finishing up the front axle and I can’t get the long side of the front axle to seat all the way? Short side was a little tough but not like this. Suggestions?

Have you tried pushing down on the hub end of the birfield to leverage up the diff. end of the axle while rotating it?
It took me a few tries when I did mine because the long side wants to drop down inside the axle housing.
I also mangled the axle seal on the long side, but I had bought 2 extra just in case that happened.

I’ll give that a shot. I bought marlin inner seals so hopefully I don’t mangle it.

This sucker will not go in. It’s crazy. It’s like the last 1-2 inches won’t push in? I have the flat parts of the Birf lined up with the flat parts on the inside of the trunnion and it just won’t budge. Any other suggestions?

Grab the diff at the driveshaft yoke and rotate it back and forth while pushing in on the birf.
