Is there any ways for a long arm suspension conversion on a 70's FJ40? I'm planning future mods, seeing where these wild ideas will take me.

Long arm = coil spring suspension.
In other words, custom, and lots of work and $$ to drop into it.
Most "any" 4-link design can be applied to the rear, while the front would need a 5-link (4 parallel plus a panhard)
Gumby is working on a link setup on his FJ40 and SpaceGhost has a nice one on his FJ40 as well.
