Will the 76-78 locking hubs fit the later trucks? I have some mini knuckles, no birfs or hubs and may eventually step up for the more common birfs and big steering pattern. I am just trying to figure out if I need hubs, or if the ones I have will work.

never tried it, but they may be too long. measure from the mount to the splined area to make sure the birf will reach
You can use them, but will need to use a washer and a bolt to keep the axle pulled out, instead of the snap ring.
If you are going to upgrade to later knuckle stuff, I would try and find the Toyota lock outs to go with the other goodies you get. They are said to be stronger than the Warns...but with that said, the only time I have seen a Warn hub fail, the outer stub took it out...
